Aston Villa Reportedly Interested in Middlesborough Defender David Wheater
Sky Sports report that Villa have entered the chase for the 24 year old center back. This would certainly be in keeping with speculation that Villa are looking to move in a younger direction across the board and would make moving a more senior defender like Richard Dunne a bit more palatable. Sounds like the kind of move I'd like to see the club pursue.

If they give us Wheater I will love them dearly

This is a rumour I can get on board with
Yes, well when I see five weirdo's dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of a hundred people, I shoot the bastards, that's my policy.
This is supposed to be pretty much a certainty at this point.
And, I agree with everyone else… solid move.
The 40 trumps all!

The Guardian had a brilliant quote on this guy and his transfer battle
And like two drunks swinging at each other in a pub car-park in a fight over a girl who’s not really worth it, Everton and Aston Villa are battling it out to see who’ll get to spring David Wheater from Middlesbrough. The elbow-faced centre-half has been a Rumour Mill staple for the best part of four years without ever actually getting to move anywhere and seems destined to remain stuck in this transfer netherworld limbo-type-purgatory for the foreseeable future.
Why does the Guardian hate you so much?

We don't appeal to their intellectual snobbishness?
