Algeria - Slovenia, 4:30 AM PDT/7:30 AM EDT/12:30 GMT
Serbia - Ghana, 7:00 AM PDT/10:00 AM EDT/15:00 GMT
Germany - Australia, 11:30 AM PDT/2:30 PM EDT/19:30 GMT
From an emotional perspective today's slate of games is a bit of a comedown, but there's still a great deal of fun to be had. Germany-Australia will be especially interesting, I think.
Also, the flags looked nice and all but it took me almost an hour to put that post together. Like hell am I doing that every day for the next month.

I think it's clear we can all say Aaron is lazy.

It's really hard to make any sort of analyzation before the coffee kicks in.
I’d like to point out that the Algerian keeper’s kit kicks some serious ass, though. Love it when a man wears purple and doesn’t fuss.

Finally a decent shot from Birsa
Algeria’s keeper has to push over the bar

And if you guys can't tell the difference between those teams by the last names,
I’m sure Harkes and Healey have a good linguistics lesson to go with their two geography lessons.

Also, "dark horses" used to describe Serbia?
They could finish first in this group

Serbia's MF need to be better
Ghana outplaying them, but can’t quite finish. Poor Zigic looks lost.

Has Zigic negociated a wage bill yet?
If not, it’s dropping quickly.

Let's leave the 'shot by a sniper' jokes to games
That do not feature the ex-Yugoslav states, shall we Mr Ekoku?

Darke and Ekoku are the worst combo yet, and that's saying something.

I still think Ekoku is fine; Darke's trying too hard.

I don't care, but I know the folks at the George and dragon
Didn’t appreciate Darke mentioning the Alg/Slo score in the first half. They’re showing that game after this one.

That is a bit classless
But I guess they don’t think about the west coast replays.

Whoa, 2nd yellow
Looked harsh initially, but on replay, that’s the right decision.

Based on today, I just don't think Ghana can hang with Germany
It doesn’t matter, as this group may have already been decided (Ghana’s into the next rd), but they weren’t completely organized at the back v Serbia. How can they hope to frustrate an attack like Germany’s?
The number of absolutely perfect, defense-shredding passes was astonishing. If Cacau or Gomez started it may have been 6 or 7.
