Checkmate! Aston Villa Reveal Their 2010/2011 Kit

Aston Villa revealed their 2010/2011 home and away kits today in a special event at ICC Birmingham. With Villa's new partnership with FxPro, Villa fans knew something had to change, and at the very least, it was going to be the removal of "Acorns" on the front of the strip.
I have to say, I was worried--Fulham has the same sponsor as us this season. Would we look the same as the Whites?
Simply put, no. We've got no white kit this year, unless it's in the form of a third alternate that I'm not seeing. Instead we're going classic with a twist: Claret body, light blue sleeves, v-neck, and a checkered side panel for the home jersey. And kick-ass socks, as modeled by Mr. Stewart Downing:

Not so much a fan of the aways, a simple black v-neck with light blue trim and more checkers. And Brad Friedel looks like he got attacked by a tiger. Find more photos on the Villa live blog
What do you think? Do you like the 2010/2011 kit, or are you wishing you'd bought last years?

I hate the home kit.
I mean I really, really hate it. The away kit I like. The goalkeeper’s kit looks like Bumblebee Man.
Oh wait I just noticed that the away kits have the checkered piping too.
Yeah, I hate them both.

Also I like how they picked Downing for this.
They must have seen it as an opportunity to make him look less ugly.
I just realized that babyface is positioned in such a way that
it appears he has stolen one of Ash’s giant sparklers and clamped it on his left ear.

I like the away kits
more than the home kits. Friedel’s goalkeeping kit is horrible.

Definitely prefer the away kit
Not sure how I felt about these new kits at first – but I think I will like them better once I see them being used in game action.
I think I’ve made up my mind to purchase an away jersey. I’ll then have that and the Acorns home shirt.
