That Darlington did play better when Hogg and a bunch of other loanees joined late in the season. They were doomed long before that.

I think this will be a trend this year but,
we have considerable more pace than this team, and had a lot more than West Ham.
If we do that against Newcastle we’ll be fine, they struggled against United’s faster players

Though it was obviously anti-Villa so I won’t repeat it.
What is Guzan supposed to do?
If he assumes nobody makes a touch and someone does, he cannot make the save. If he assumes someone will get a touch and he has to position himself to make a save, that happens.
Considering how difficult the ball was to track even in slow-motion, it’s a bit odd to blame Guzan for that goal. He guessed one way and got it wrong.

Trust me, he's not my favorite either--I certainly wouldn't be pleased if Friedel was hurt and we had to count on Guzan

But if you have the funds for foxsoccer.tv it’s worth it IMO.
It covers CL games, and gets all the Fox Soccer Plus and non-televised in America games.
I’m not sure however if it gets the ESPN games from England, but wouldn’t think it would.

A good result for the Villa here
Some hairy moments in defense, but aside 1 real howler they did ok. Pleased with how this pretty young side played. As long as Villa don’t concede at home they are through.

Yeah getting a goal is huge...with a draw at home (as long as they don't score 2) we at the least have PK's.
