I don't have an Italian side
So far I’ve got Villa, the Fire (boo), Stuttgart, PSG and Atletico. No team in Italy. Can anyone convince me one way or the other? I know Serie A gets a ton of hate so it’s understandable if no one can help me out.
Fiorentina always played attacking football during the slower periods in Serie A
before AC Milan bought their best player (Rui Costa). They might be fun to support.

I chose Napoli for Hamsik but I understand why people would want to choose a team based on, well, the team rather than an individual. And I pay attention to Serie A because FSC tells me to do so.

If you are an American
Sampdoria wears red, white and blue (always a winner). If you are english then Genoa is good because they stuck to their English roots even during Mussolini’s reign in Italy.

You want me to pick ANOTHER team?! I haven't even gotten around to MLS yet.
My geography says I should support United (eck), but every time I pay attention to MLS, it’s always the Sounders, even though they didn’t begin as an MLS side until well after I left WA state.
But I’m loathe to pick another team I’ll never get to see play.
No, don't pick right away, just keep watching soccer.
If you happen to find yourself liking a particular team, well, there you go.
Except for the Sounders. Of course you should like them.

Fabrizio Miccoli is amazing, and it’s a crime he has never played for the Azzuri.
Technically Napoli is my Serie A side
I picked them because I have a friend who is Italian and that was his club. Then a week later he said he liked AC Milan too. it is good to know I picked by Serie A side with the help of a sport bigamist. I haven’t followed Italy too closely for the past year and a half anyway. I really don’t have any other clubs however I am rooting for AFC Wimbledon to get promoted to the Football League. Their fans definately deserve it.
