Anyway, Jean Makoun picked up a thigh injury in the match against Wigan on Tuesday, so he's a doubt for the FA Cup match against Blackburn Rovers. But unlike the fall, this time we get a healthy player in exchange for a semi-broken one: Kyle Walker has overcome his back problem and will play on Saturday.

And so the Villa have filled in one piece of the puzzle: who will start at right back. But we're still in the dark about the other nine starting spots (I assume Brad Friedel starts as Andy Marshall?
