This is it. After nearly a month of competition, the field has been whittled down to Japan and the United States. Japan have gotten here through some of the most efficient soccer I've ever watched, while the US have relied upon some incredible luck and incredible determination. The United States are the favorite, but I can't help but be worried about Japan. They are a fantastic side, and could pose quite a few problems.
Use this as an open thread to discuss the match. Also, know that I am entirely jealous of you all, as I will be teaching while the match goes on. Last year I missed US-Algeria for jury duty, and this year I'm missing a US World Cup final to teach a bunch of people how to take the GRE. I'd appreciate if the world began scheduling itself around my developing soccer habit.
Go USA!
