Elsewhere in the Cup, Leeds will host Chelsea, Middlesborough travel to face Swansea City, and Bradford City will face off against Arsenal at home.
The draw for the quarterfinals of the Capital One League Cup has been announced and though Villa's draw could have been either more or less difficult, it would be tough for it to be any more hilarious. As you've probably put together based on the headline, Aston Villa will travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the second week of December, meaning Paul Lambert's likely dreaded return to face his old club will be coming about five months earlier than expected.
Given the way Villa played against Norwich City at home last weekend it's tough to see them as favorites, especially given that the game is going to be sandwiched between tough league clashes with Stoke and Liverpool. Still, Norwich City is a much better draw than Arsenal or Chelsea, and with more than a month to go there's plenty of time to get things headed in the right direction. And I sure hope that's the way it goes, because losing that one would be painful, while a trip to the semifinals of what looks to be a relatively winnable League Cup would be quite welcome.
