One can dream.
Dear Mr. Andre Villas-Boas,
We are sad to hear that the high expectations of Roman Abramovich have forced you and Chelsea to part ways, particularly after such a short period of time.
However, we have an exciting offer for you! We would like to bring you to England's Second City, recently named 19th in the New York Times' top 45 places to go in 2012. Birmingham has a host of attractions to offer, including the legendary Bull Ring, a multitude of curry houses, and, of course, the pride of the city: Aston Villa.Sure, the Villa have a manager right now, but let's face it -- he's not very good. You would look like an absolute genius after Alex McLeish. Support for you would be lavish. You want to weed out the old players and set up a new system? By all means, go for it. We've been begging for the likes of Stephen Warnock, James Collins, and Emile Heskey to just disappear. We'd not make banners demanding the return of new ways.
You love to play a 4-3-3? We're dying for something that goes beyond a 4-4-1-1. Desperate to create a system of fluid, fast-moving football? We're dying for that, too. Willing to lose? At this point, we're screaming for a loss. This would be a mutually beneficial relationship.
And let's not forget that it seems you're destined to manage Villa. C'mon -- Villas-Boas? Villa? It would be perfection.
