I'm a bit worried that this photo reminds me of Martin O'Neill.
Aston Villa have released a statement confirming former Norwich City boss Paul Lambert has been appointed to manage the claret and blue. The entire statement is 17 words long, with the majority of that being comprised of the club's name and the name of our new manager. So, uh, not a lot to report on that.
Not exactly news out of left field, but the officiality remain significant: now that the Villa have a manager, the club can move forward in the summer, mapping out transfer targets and getting rid of dead weight. Might I suggest James Collins, Mr. Lambert? Or make a bold move, admit that Alex McLeish was dumber than a bag of nails, and ship Alan Hutton off to Scotland.
So the hard part is out of the way. It's time to move on to the silly season, and start noting every rumour of every player that just might be making their way to our beloved club.
