According to the official site, Aston Villa hope to have Darren Bent back for the preseason match against Nottingham Forest, which is on August 4th. Benty picked up a thigh strain while training in Chicago, sending some of us into a minor panic, as is par for the course any time a Villan not named James Collins or Alan Hutton ends up on the injury list.
But Bent seems fine, the only real problem being that he hasn't done much of anything in the last four months. Maybe some yoga, Darren? Something besides sitting on the sofa all summer? Anyway, those of you hoping to catch a glimpse of the star striker during the US tour will wind up disappointed, but you've got the likes of Nathan Delfouneso and Andi Weimann to help you cope with the loss.
And remember you can catch the Timbers match on Tuesday at 8pm Portland time or 4am crazy time.
