Midfielder Yacouba Sylla has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal with Aston Villa, and will be eligible to play against Everton at the weekend.
Yacouba Sylla has posed with a ball and held up an Aston Villa kit. He's complimented the "dynamic and exciting young team" and extended praise to Christian Benteke. In other words, his move from Ligue 2 side Clermont to Villa is officially official.
Sylla, a 22 year old defensive midfielder, has signed a three and a half year contract and will wear number 18. He's been complimented on his strength and physical presence, and says he admires the strength of Cheick Tiote. Considering the average height of Villa players hovers around 5'5", and defensive midfielders on this side seem to shatter like glass, this is exactly the sort of player needed by the club.
And in case you're wondering -- yes, he's available for the match against Everton this weekend. Do you want to see him start, or do you think it would be better if he gets in a bit more time with his new teammates first?
