The Tilehurst End, SBN's Reading blog, posted part one of their Premier League previews. Kirsten answers questions about the Villa, and they've also got Ted from The Short Fuse on Arsenal, Graham from We Ain't Got No History talking about Chelsea, and Daniel from Royal Blue Mersey giving thoughts on Everton.
Per WhoScored. Potential for a hot start beckons.
The hits keep comin'!
Responding to fans queries, Jean II Makoun is No.17. Waiting for work permit issues to be cleared up. #AVFC

This isn't Earth-shatteringly big news, but if you're a fan of Makoun (and you should be) then it's encouraging to hear that he still appears to be in the team's plans.
Expect #WHU to confirm they've agreed a deal for #AVFC's James Collins shortly

Up the Irons! It looks like James Collins is about to be sold to West Ham, his former club. We don't know much about the fees yet but this is welcome news in a summer full of welcome news. Time to start wondering about who is going to grab the number six shirt.
Apparently Birmingham -a city of over one million people- is located in "suburban London." On behalf of Americans capable of reading a map, I'd like to offer my apologies.
Feyenoord have announced that the deal for Ron Vlaar (just over £3m) has been completed, stating he has signed a 3-year contract with #AVFC

According to Martin Laurence and the Feyenoord official website which I cannot for the life of me get to load right now Ron Vlaar has finally agreed to terms with Aston Villa. The believed agreement is to be for 4 million pounds and a three year contract. We'll post more about this as it unravels but it looks like the back line has finally been bolstered.
The absolutely essential Twohundredpercent.net has been doing a wonderful "Match of the Past" series all summer long, and he's gone out with a bang, wrapping the series up with Aston Villa. This is a great way for younger fans (like myself) or fans who may have never even been to Birmingham (me again) to get in touch with the club's history and broaden their perspective when it comes to "what Aston Villa is."
Darren Bent not been able to attend event because he is having a scan on his thigh, most likely ruling him out tonight's match

This is probably no big deal. Please god be no big deal.
