Holtecast VIII: The One With a Guest
We're back for another week of podcasting! And this week, the crew are joined by a guest: Ted Harwood, the esteemed author of SBN's Arsenal blog The Short Fuse. If you haven't been reading The Short Fuse, you really ought to be. It's one of the best soccer blogs on the web; consistently thorough, funny, and insightful. Ted helps give us some insight into what Villa might expect from the Gunners in a few hours.
Please excuse us a bit, as recording problems mean that the end is abrupt and sudden. Add that to the fact that I am not with my laptop and have no real editing software and you get a pod without intro music as well. That said, everything you'll hear is up to the usual standards, so hopefully it will still be enjoyable.
You can either stream or download the podcast below, (just kidding! The house I am at has an Internet connection that makes 3G speeds look blazing. So just grab it from PodOmatic!) or you can check out our page on PodOmaticic and subscribe to the podcast there. We're working on the iTunes thing, we promise, but until then you can throw the PodOmatic feed into iTunes and that should work just as well.
Holtecast VII: That's So Heskey
On a great night for schadenfreude, the crew from 7500 to Holte chuckle at Manchester's misfortunes before digging into Aston Villa's weak performance against United on Saturday. There's also talk of transfers to be had and a discussion of Aston Villa's "best possible eleven." Finally, we preview the upcoming match against Bolton at the Reebok, and at least one of us tries to be positive.

Holtecast VI: Hell Hath No Fury Like A Scotsman Scorned
Podcast! Podcast! Get your new podcast everyone! In this episode, a ragtag collection of 7500 to Holte writers mull over last weekend's trip to Wales, preview the inevitable shellacking against wounded animal Manchester United, and of course discuss MARTIN O'NEILL HEY EVERYONE MARTIN O'NEILL JOB OPENING MARTIN O'NEILL.
You can download or stream the episode here or over at Podomatic. You can also find a feed there to subscribe to all of our podcasts, and have them beamed directly into your computer as soon as they're published.
Podcast: The Well of Aston Villa Despair
It's episode 5 of the 7500 to Holte Podcast! And thus ends the exclamation points for this post. I'll be honest, from what I've heard, and what the crew have told me on twitter/email, this is a depressing one. But realistically, what can you expect? Villa put out their worst 90 minutes of the season this week, and things don't look very uphill from here.
Of note in today's podcast, due to technical difficulties things begin a bit in medias res, so don't be shocked if it feels like you're dropping into the middle of a conversation after the theme jingle.
I was unable to make this week's episode, but you're in the good hands of Kirsten, Andrew, and your host Gareth. The good news is that, while things are dour for Villa, the commentary and insight in here are top-notch. Plus they talk a bit about our youth. So there is some upside!
As usual, right click to save the file, or just straight click if you don't mind streaming and listening in your browser. We look forward to hearing what you think!
Podcast: Gabby's call-up, How we view Villa, the death of Marc, and more
Why look, it's Episode 4 of the 7500 to Holte Podcast! Sorry we missed last week, but things just didn't work out for us actually matching schedules. So to make up for it, we've got our longest podcast yet, and our first non-7500 guest! Graham MacAree of We Ain't Got No History joined us for the opening segment, in which we discuss the pending international break and Gabby Agbonlahor. After that, we touch of how Aston Villa is perceived, the upcoming schedule, Norwich City, and more.
So give Episode 4 a listen, and let us know what you think! Do you have any ideas for future segments? Would you like your questions answered? Leave us your thoughts below. Enjoy!
Below, find some of the photoshops that were, for one reason or another, rejected for the banner image today. They were all inspired by today's episode. I hope you enjoy them, or something.
Podcast: West Brom, Bitterness, Eric Lichaj and More
Hey, it's episode 3 of the podcast! I wasn't there to host this time, so Kirsten admirably took over those duties. We've got to have someone with a lady-voice helming this ship at all times. More importantly, however, episode 3 marks Aaron's debut in the podcast! If you haven't heard him before, that means you've been missing out on the great work they do on Nos Audietis, the podcast of Sounder at Heart. But now Aaron's talking about Villa. Where he belongs.
And, if you know anything about Aaron, you can understand why Eric Lichaj came up in this one. Hear everyone talk about pronunciation and injuries you didn't know about! Additionally, Aaron, Kirsten, and Gareth recap the loss to West Brom and look ahead to Sunderland this weekend. Podcast: Rehashing Man City, Relegation, West Brom, and the Stupidest Person in the World
We're back! Here's episode two of The 7500 to Holte Podcast. And yes, we went with that for a name. Thanks for all of the suggestions, but as Andrew pointed out, this was a bit more straightforward.
Anyhow, you'll hear Kirsten, Andrew, Gareth, and me talking about the Man City terror, the rumors of relegation's relegation, Liverpool's TV idea, and a West Brom preview. Plus, you'll find our very first feature, Gareth's "The dumbest/stupidest person in the world." It's pretty delightful.
Let us know what you think. We'll be working on getting the thing into iTunes in the coming weeks (for those of you who love automation and hate clicking [by the way, you can right click as "save target as" to have your own non-streaming MP3 of this]). And, as always, be sure to leave any questions you have for upcoming podcasts (or in regard to this one) in the comments. Happy listening!
An Aston Villa Podcast for the Mildly Crazy
It's here! We've been talking about this amongst ourselves for months and we finally did it. Below, you will find the first-ever 7500 to Holte podcast. For those of you who love automation, we will someday have it on iTunes, but not now. So go ahead and give it a listen!
What, you still need convincing? Alright then. Kirsten, Slaky, Gareth and I all got together to talk about the undefeated beginning to Aston Villa's season, surprises in the EPL, Gabby Agbonlahor, and most importantly: Andy Marshall. You'll be treated to the dulcet tones of our voices, with an emphasis on Kirsten's. I promise you it's better that way. There are a few audio problems (most notably the loud Kirsten and quiet boys), but we'll be working on those in future podcasts.
So now, give it a listen. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments. And be doubly sure to drop us a line if you've got an idea for a good name or you are in a band who wants to make us a theme song. Thanks for listening!
