A Blog For Aston Villa Fans

Apparently Aston Villa are considering former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier to be director of football and leaving Kevin MacDonald in a coaching role. I would actually like that quite a bit.

A comment in one of the posts indicated that it was silly for Kevin MacDonald to wait so long to decide if he even wanted a chance at the job, seeing that it ruled Villa out of the transfer market. To me, having a manager decide if he really DOES want the job is important, as what if he decides the pressure is too much and leaves Villa, once again, up the creek? Should MacDonald want the job, I see no real issue with having him guide Villa, at least for this season. He knows the club and its players, and while he's made a couple questionable choices, for the most part his decisions have been sound. I'd rather it be him than see Villa scramble for a lesser-quality candidate. Speaking of lesser-quality, Louise Taylor delicately describes Sam Allardyce: "his football philosophy remains an acquired taste." Not one I'd wish to acquire, thanks.
